Rich green areas, producing oxygen and creating fresh and peaceful oasis, have been joined in a coherent way with the great commercial complexes or sometimes hidden in most unexpected places by the landscape specialists at PB. Even though, for the time being, the design of parks in their entirety is not being requested anymore due to lack of space, PB’s experts continue to demonstrate their mastery in urban rehabilitation upon local municipalities’ requests.

Circus Park
project details
Period: 1963 – 1965
The Circus Park was designed by the architect Valentin Donose, one of the succesors of Bucharest’s “garden men” from the 19th and 20th centuries.
The park was on an unsuitable area for building, being an ex brick exploration area, used by a factory. Simultaneously, with the building of the State Circus, during the same period of time, through the arrangements and the endowments of this park, this social-cultural edifice gained more value.
Treated with a great deal of sensibility, the characteristics of the land were highlighted with good sense, a lake from the underground waters, alleys, flowers, resting spaces, art elements, playground areas , but also various plants, so that each season, the image of the park should be different. Circus Park includes a permanent flower exhibition and can be integrated in a cultural and aesthetical way of education for the visitors.

Amenajarea zonei centrale a oraşului Piteşti
project details
Development period: 1998-2002
The rehabilitation was done in two stages – the first, included Vasile Milea Square, and the second – the area between Sf. Gheorghe Church, Fortuna complex and Trivale shops.
After a critical analysis of the unstructured area, it was established that the area has a series of technical and aesthetical deficienties which affected the arhitectural imagine of this important area downtown.
Regarding this arragement, there was provided a three segment resolution. The segment between Maternitatii and Ana Ipatescu streets, was designed to preserv the old town image. The second section is known as ‚Strada Mare’, and the theird, the area between the townhall and the Trivale shops. Many interventions were done in this area.
The Vasile Milea Square was designed according to the major diagonal which unites the Church with the circulation between The Cultral House and townhall. On this imaginary line, were created four garden areas, of 15 m each. The spatial monotony was revived by the different colored diagonals. In the green areas there were planted flower stands, two of them having sitting places.
Also, a fountaine was built from two parts, each having a particular shape that give more value to the construction. One of the shapes looks like a tulip with water petals (visible also at night) and the other one offer a fire burninig imagine (hence the name ‚Live Fire’), which from time to time is put out.
Rows of benches and flower stands follow the fluctuating margins of the water spring and green areas and are marked in the dark, by a series of beacons lamps. The illuminating system allows a wide range of visual effects.
Specific elements that give a sensibility note are ‘the fir tree island’ and the small rotunda designed near the Church.
