    1992-2004 period

The following areas have been arranged, restructured and modernized: the rotunda basement; the small concert hall; the protocol, philharmonic, direction, administration and technical areas.

The arch was restored and works within the large concert hall were made, like the restoration of the interior coating. The fortification works consisted doubling the current steel structures.

Anti corrosive protection has been provided for all metal elements of the cupola. Structural interventions in the large concert hall involved the restoration of the original room configuration: increasing the scene with a new area of concrete bridging and the ceiling renewal on the new boxes made after eliminating the staircase access to the main box.

  • Works aimed to strengthen, repair, restore and modernize George Severeanu Collection

    Project development period: 2000

The museum was built at the end of the XIX century, being classified as a historical and architectural monument. The main building houses the "Mary and Dr. George Severeanu" collection as well as the collections of the numismatic cabinet of Bucharest.

Facades are decorated with abundantly embellished window framing and specific age style attics.

Consolidation solutions have been taken into account, to preserve the volumetric analysis and the decorations. On the outside, they comprise rehabilitation of areas affected due to the shrinking land and the underpinning and deepening the foundations. The interior consolidations avoided damaging the walls decorated with different models, fixed mirrors and embellished paneling. Throughout the work special attention was paid to protect its fixed decorations, to remove, renumber and restore the paneling and renew the ceiling decorations after the wax had been taken.

The reorganizing of the museum circuit includes renouncing to a subsequently built wall for the circuit fluidization and the improvement of the lighting system adapted to specific exhibits - especially for the numismatic collection. An exterior lighting system has been provided in order to enhance the importance of the monument.

For the interior, it has been suggested to index, undo, hygiene and restore all of the inside decorations, and also to protect the art – the paintings and sculptures were restored by certified specialists.

There has been established a new system of heating, with areas that have elements in the floor, the central heating, a new illuminating system both inside and outside (to make the monument more attractive), and there have been eliminated the brutal technical interventions from the main facades (embranchment, gases, etc.).
